Why was Dragon age 2 failed but Dragon Origin wasn't?

DA2 had it's problems, but it gets judged too harshly. I thought in a lot of ways it was an improvement. The thing that really held the game back was it's short development time. It came out a little over a year after Origins. The game was very obviously rushed, I really hope they take their time and make DA3 the great game it deserves to be.
