In Dragon Age:Origins, is it true that longbow dmg is determined by strength and shortbow by Dexterity?

I'm making an archer and deciding on a build, I'm thinking, dump 2-pts dex and 1pt cunning a level%26lt; a statement that may be commented on.In Dragon Age:Origins, is it true that longbow dmg is determined by strength and shortbow by Dexterity?
Long bow has higher attack while short bow has faster attack speed

Strength does nothing for archery

If there's only one rogue in your party, I'd pump cunning just enough to open chests, and then pump dexterity to the max (of course, you might want to invest some in constitution as well)

Otherwise, cunning is good for high crit builds, which increases crit damage

For your information:

Dexterity

Increases basic attack damage for rogues by 0.5 per each point above 10.

Increases damage for rogue abilities.

Increases attack for rogues

Increases critical hit chance by 1% per each point above 10.

Increases force for rogue abilities/attacks.

Cunning

Increases defense

Increases critical hit damage by 1% (2% if you have the assassin ability devious harm) per each point above 10.

Increases rogues ability to pick locks by one difficulty threshold per every 10 points.

Increases rogues ability to disarm traps by one difficulty threshold per every 10 points.
