Should I get Mass effect 2 or Dragon age Origins for Xbox 360?

I've heard good things about both of these games, and I can only buy one of them. So what should I get?

(note: I have NOT played mass Effect 1 and I heard that it makes more sense if you played mass effect 1 first)Should I get Mass effect 2 or Dragon age Origins for Xbox 360?
mass effect 2 even if you haven't played the first one it will bring you up on the story they are both very good games but i liked mass effect 2 more one of the best games ever
I would do Dragon Age first, play through it and love it, then when you get time, pick up Mass Effect 1 and then finally import your saved game into #2 once you beat #1.Should I get Mass effect 2 or Dragon age Origins for Xbox 360?

Depends on what kind of gamer you are, if u like rpgs like KOTOR or Baldurs gate then u will love dragon age, those games tho can be rather long, tedious %26amp; can be complex for some, but if you like games that are straight to the point action games like Jade Empire or Oblivion then buy mass effect2, I like mass effect myself more than dragon age just because its less complicated than DAO. Mass Effect is incredibly story driven. If you play ME2 without playing the first, you will not get it at all. As pretty much every single event in the game draws upon the events of the first game. If you don't want to be lost within the events of ME2, you should really play the first. If for some reason you decide to skip ME1 and go straight to ME2, you should really read up a detailed plot synopsis of the first game. as well as all of the characters within your party. It won't be as good as playing through the game yourself, but you'll have a better grasp of the plot and conflict instead of if you just dove into the sequel without any regard to the story.



Alot of people here may say that Mass Effect 2 is more action packed than Dragon Age Origins. The actions sequences are very intense and epic, and there's certainly alot of explosions and gunfire, but the truth is that ME2 is nothing but fixed action sequences tied together by long bits of running and talking. There is much much MUCH more combat in Dragon Age Origins. This is because of the length of the game (It's pretty goddamn long) and is much more like a traditional RPG than Mass Effect. Combat in DAO can be alot more relentless and punishing and more, well, clusterfuck-y than in Mass Effect 2. However there is much more than just combat in DAO, there's alot of character development and story elements to take in while the playing through the game.



They are both truly great games by the same company, but they are also very different games. I own both for PC, and they're just really damn good. Personally, I'd recommend DAO. But the choice is up to you. Just know that they're both damn good games in their own right.
You do not have to play Mass Effect 1 to get what is going on in Mass Effect I would say it is nice to have played the first one but not really needed.



I own both games and enjoyed both of them but if I had to pick one it would hands down be Mass Effect 2. This is because I prefer the graphics, story and combat in fact it really is the combat that makes Mass Effect 2 better.



If you have played KOTOR or KOTOT II then that is the kind of fighting system you will find in Dragon Age where Mass Effect 2 is real time shooting over the shoulder using a cover system like Gears Of War.



Personally you can not go wrong with either game but in my opinion Mass Effect 2 is the better game of the two.
My husband enjoyed Mass Effect 2 better than Dragon Age. You do not need to play the first Mass Effect to understand Mass Effect 2.
hmm get the Dragon Age first if u didn't play the mass effect 1 instead on playing mass effect 2 the story its a little boring
If you are leaning towards ME2, know that you cannot play it without playing the first. I have many friends who have borrowed it from myself, and haven't played ME. None of them got it. As I played both, I did get it.



Dragon Age: Origins is a really good game. But if you get it, I recommend buying the DLC for it that is available now. I have played it all and it is all good. The game has points where it seems like it won't eve end, but the vast majority is very enjoyable.



My vote? DA: Origins
Dragon age. You get to make lots more decisions that affect the story and your character feels more like your own. It also has a better story. If you would rather get mass effect 2 I would suggest you get mass effect 1 first because it's a great game and you can continue with your mass effect 1 character in mass effect 2.
If you haven't played mass effect 1 then the obvious choice is to get Dragon Age: origins because the Expansion pack is coming out soon and it's WICKED. The game is really good. Well, if you're into shooting games then i guess Mass Effect 2 but I strongly suggest Dragon Age because it's more varied and the story line is interesting. There are also millions of decidions in the game and everyone loves making choices! I'm saying this as a teenager who is in her second playthrough in about a month with exams coming up. That is a high level of addiction. Yeah, my parents aren't mad YET.
