Are dragon age origins and dragon age 2 at the same time?

I just finished dragon age origins and all the DLC/campaigns and I've moved onto dragon age 2 and I'm just trying to get into kirkwall but from the story just now it seems like the blight in dragon age 2 is the same one from dragon age origins? They mentioned all the wardens died at ostagar and flemeth said not quite and they're just escaping from lothering just now just like what happened when the blight attacked lothering early on in the game on dragon age origins.

da2 is set to were the dark spawn just destroyed your home

if you rember in dao lothering *how ever its spelled* lol was destroyed da2 picks up from there just as a dif group going on a whole new quest line that spans over 8years just follow the story line you will seee

Dragon Age 2 starts a little bit after the prologue in Dragon Age Origins. But Dragon Age 2 spans a much wider time period than Origins does.Are dragon age origins and dragon age 2 at the same time?
Based on what i got from the game, I think its set just after Origins.
