It would be best to look at the strengths and weaknesses of both games. Dragon age 2 improved upon the core gameplay mechanics and the story elements, whereas the overall storyline of the original was superior and gave the player far more control over events than you have in it's predecessor. Combat in Dragon Age 2 is more fast pace, fluid, and impressive looking than the first game. Whereas in the first game a mage will just point a staff at a guy and shoot bolts of energy, the Mage in Dragon Age 2 works his staff like a shoalin monk, so to speak. That being said, the story and characters of the first game are superior. In the second game you are stuck on a roller coaster going through a series of events you have no control over. Important story events will happen in a specific order regardless of how you approach them. Dragon Age Origins gives you control over when key events take place, and allow the player to engage them in the order of his choosing. Character customization is also superior in the first game, letting you play from one of many backgrounds instead of just one. Game balance wise, there are some clear winners over losers when it comes to talent selection more so than the second game. To sum things up, if you want more of the classic rpg experience, go Dragon Age Origins. For more action, go Dragon Age 2.Dragon Age: Origins vs. Dragon Age 2?
Dragon Age: Origins should be played first IMO.Dragon Age: Origins vs. Dragon Age 2?
DA:O is so much better than DA2!
My favorite story line is Human Warrior in DAO.
